This is the homepage for the discussion mediawiki extension. To use it, simply add the following wiki text to a page:

<discussion />

You can also specify various parameters, e.g.

<discussion>
  post_group="user"
  characters_max=0
</discussion>

will disallow postings by anonymous users and remove restriction on the number of characters in a comment. Here is a complete list of parameters.

Currently, it is available in English, Russian, German and French. You can help by translating it to other languages!

Tracking recent comments

The extension adds a special page listing recent comments. Besides helping to keep track of postings, this special page also allows search engines to index the comments. (Comments on other pages probably will not be indexed since they are retrieved dynamically via Ajax).

Older comments can be accessed by specifying the appropriate start and end dates. For example, this link points to a page with all comments posted in September 2009. It's not clear, though, whether it will be indexed - many search engines seem to ignore url parameters after "?".
